AstenJ legal Conferences

Asten J hosted a professional training event focusing on the new data protection laws that will be introduced across Europe and the UK on 25 May 2018. For all those who were present at this seminar will now have a better idea of the new GDPR which is a European Directive that is being enforced on all member states. The Event was opened by Mr Wasantha Tennakoon and the body of the seminar was delivered by Mr David Campbell.

Mr Campbell is a solicitor who specialises in data protection law amongst other regulatory matters. His lecture on the GDPR was clear, thorough and very well informed. Mr Campbell took the audience through a history of data protection laws, key definitions and principles of the GDPR and the rights of individuals whose data you may hold

Asten J provided refreshments and sandwiches at break-time and the audience who attended this seminar certainly walked away with an informed understanding of their duties and obligations towards individuals and their private information. This seminar was useful for students and professionals alike and especially for those who hold senior positions within legal organisations. If you did not catch this one, make sure you catch the next one.
