AstenJ:
ASTENJ is a professional training provider that includes continuing competence training for solicitors and CPD training for other lawyers, including barristers, as well as training for professionals in a broad selection of practice areas. ASTENJ will provide Training Events to Clients in exchange for a fee.
Client:
A Client is an individual or an organisation that engages in the services of ASTENJ.
Training Event
A Training Event is any course, seminar, conference, workshop, webinar, or other event that has been organised by ASTENJ for client attendance in exchange for a Course Fee.
Course Fee:
ASTENJ defines a Course Fee as a charge applied at the course level for consumable expenses directly related to the Client’s participation in a Training Event.
The Course Fee will be determined by the ASTENJ. The Course Fees will be decided separately for each Training Event.
Booking:
Completion of a Seminar/Conference/webinar/workshop booking by way of a booking form/online booking/email booking/telephone booking creates a binding agreement between ASTENJ and the Client where the Client will be liable to pay the full Course Fee to ASTENJ. Confirmation of your booking and details of the Training Event will be sent to you within seven working days of receipt of your booking request. Clients should contact ASTENJ if they have not received confirmation of their Booking within seven working days. Invoices must be paid in full within 14 days from the invoice date or seven days before the start of the course, whichever is sooner. Bookings, including lunch made less than seven working days prior to an event, will not be accepted. Payment can be made by BACS transfer, credit/debit card, or PayPal. If payment of an Invoice is not made within 14 days of the date on the invoice or seven days before the start of the course, ASTENJ reserves the right to cancel the Client’s booking.
Cancellations and Refunds:
All requests for cancellations of Bookings must be made in writing and sent to ASTENJ by post or by email. For Bookings cancelled prior to 14 days of the Training Event date, a full refund of the Course Fee will be issued. Cancellation requests received within 14 days of the Training Event date will be subject to an administration charge of £25.00. However, cancellation requests received within 48 hours before the Training Event start date or on the date of the Training Event will result in the full Course Fee being charged to the Client and/or no refund of the full Course Fee being issued to the Client. If the Client fails to attend a Training Event without notice of cancellation, ASTENJ will retain the full Course Fee being charged to the Client and/or no refund of the Full Course fee will be issued to the Client.
Venue & Speakers
The location and details of the Training Event venue will be sent to the Client within a reasonable period before the Training Event start date. If, due to circumstances outside of ASTENJ’s control, speakers or the venue become unavailable, we reserve the right to change the venue and/or the speaker(s) at any time and /or postpone or cancel the Training Event. Under these circumstances, we will offer Clients, who have made a prior booking, the option to transfer their booking on to an alternative Training Event or the option to attend the same Training Event once it has been rescheduled. Under these circumstances, Clients will also be given the option to receive a full refund of the Course Fee. Under these circumstances ASTENJ will not be liable for any expenses incurred by the Client such as travel, accommodation, food etc.
Substitute:
If a Client is unable to attend a Course, that client has the option to transfer their booking to another individual. Please provide us with details of the substitute prior to the event commencement. There is no extra charge for attendance substitution.
Where food and refreshments are provided at a Training Event, ASTENJ will endeavour to accommodate dietary restrictions such as gluten free, dairy free or vegetarian meals but do not guarantee that these will be available at each event and will not accept any liability for damages arising out of food/refreshment consumption at a Training Event.
Personal Injury:
ASTENJ will not be liable for any damages arising from injury to Clients at a Training Event. Clients agree that ASTENJ will not be liable for any loss, injury or damage to any person (including you, the Client) or property however caused (including by ASTENJ).
Photography:
ASTENJ may arrange for photos/videos to be taken at Training Events. Any such images may be used for promotional purposes. Clients who do not wish for their image to be used in this manner must notify ASTENJ prior to any Training Event. Any photographs/videos taken at Training Event shall be the exclusive property of ASTENJ and ASTENJ reserves the right to use any such media for their own purposes.
