• Richard Mckee – (Retired judge of the Upper Tribunal) Deportation in the light of HA (Iraq): It has become increasingly difficult to win a deportation appeal, but this landmark judgment from the Court of Appeal presents an opportunity to reverse the trend, and should be required reading for any practitioner working in this field. • Samina Iqbal – (Barrister, Goldsmith Chambers) EU Settlement Scheme: Samina will provide a full overview of the EU Settlement Scheme, how it has been operating up until now and the main deadlines and pitt-falls to watch out for. In particular, Samina will focus on mandatory deadlines, applications from Extended Family Members and those wishing to return to the UK or join family members here post-Brexit. • Richard Mckee – (Retired judge of the Upper Tribunal) Immigration Law Update: This talk will range over a miscellany of topics, from the new arrangements for the preparation and hearing of immigration appeals to new immigration rules, and taking in an old favourite – long residence. • Nishan Paramjorthi – (Head of Paramount Chambers) The impact of the new proposed changes to the immigration rules in December 2020, and what it really means • Sarah Pinder – (Barrister, Goldsmith Chambers) A look at business/working categories post-Brexit: In her talk, Sarah will focus on the inevitable changes that are being brought about by Brexit. She will provide a whistle-stop tour of the new Tier 2 rules and will try to make sense of the various other announcements for other working categories so that you don’t have to! • Baldip Singh Aulak – (Barrister, Head of the Immigration team at 33 Bedford Row) The marriage of immigration and family law: Baldip will be speaking on the marriage between family and immigration law.
