    Decisions by the Secretary of State to deprive individuals of citizenship on fraud grounds have surged fivefold since 2021, often involving complex factual scenarios. The evolving legal framework, shaped by the Supreme Court's decision in Begum and subsequent Upper Tribunal rulings, has introduced significant challenges in understanding the First-tier Tribunal's role, the applicable standard of review, and the admissibility of evidence. This seminar will provide an up-to-date analysis of the current approach to such cases, with a focus on the recent Court of Appeal judgments in SSHD v Kolicaj [2025] EWCA Civ 10, Chaudhry v SSHD [2025] EWCA Civ 16, and SSHD v Daci [2025] EWCA Civ 18.
